Creative Folkestone Book Festival 2022

We're very proud to provide the festival bookshop for The Shape of Things to Come, Creative Folkestone's forward-looking Book Festival. Returning to its rightful place in our cultural calendar, the festival will run from Friday 18 November to the following Sunday 27 November 2022 with a packed programme of talks, panel discussions, live music and more this autumn.

Folkestone Book Festival returns with open arms and a welcoming space for ideas, conversation, debate, and a general celebration of the written word. Our guest speakers will cover an incredible range of topics that will cover everything from Politics to Proust, banned books to brain surgery, rest to revolution, and everything in between.

Confirmed writers, authors, and thinkers appearing at this year’s festival include:

Anil Seth, Astrid Goldsmith, Claudia Hammond, ColmTóibín, DeborahLevy, Gavin Esler, Juno Dawson, Margo Jefferson, Miriam Margolyes, Margaret Busby, Hannah Azieb Pool & Patience Agbabi, Richard Ovenden & Will Self, Roger Robinson & Johny Pitts, William Shaw, and many others.

Tickets for all events are on sale now.

As is tradition, the Book Festival will also welcome the start of the festive season in and around Folkestone’s creative Quarter. On Friday 18 November, all are invited to join us in turning on the Christmas Lights and illuminating the darker nights.
