    Book Festivals & Events

We support many events during the academic year, from conferences and public lectures to book signings and author events. A favourite talk on the importance of books and bookshops was given by the wonderful Robin Ince as part of the Vice Chancellor's Public Lecture Series.

We work alongside academic departments as well as outside organisations. We have provided bookstalls to the Canterbury Festival and the Folkestone Book Festival over the past ten years. We also support the much-loved annual Canterbury History Weekend, which has featured many well-known historians including Janina Ramirez and Marc Morris.

Creative writing events have included talks by SF Said, Esther Freud, Sophie Hannah, Lawrence Norfolk, Tibor Fischer, and many more. We have supported publisher 'roadshows' with editors and authors from Salt Publishing and Orenda Books.

Look out for books from our university graduates from Creative & Professional Writing at CCCU as well as book launches by CCCU academic staff.

All our events – including many pictures – are posted to our social media.
